Green Dot Bioplastics is offering backers of its Indiegogo.com crowdfunding campaign the opportunity to field-test its new biodegradable deer attractant pellets.

October 07, 2016

Hunters often use attractants to lure deer into a controlled area. Many of the most popular products are liquids and spays; however, these products have a limited effective lifespan and do not weather well once dispensed. Green Dot is introducing a better war to lure in the big bucks.

The material scientists at Green Dot Bioplastics have developed a biodegradable polymer that is ideal for scenting. Pellets made with the material can absorb large amounts of liquid scent and retain the scent for a long time. The deer attractant pellets are scented with fresh doe in estrus urine or deer scrape urine. Natural fibers in the pellets provide outdoor color and texture to camouflage them when dispersed onto the ground. The biodegradable pellets retained the scent and lasted longer than standard sprays. And, stored pellets kept their potency.

Green Dot CEO, Mark Remmert, explained, “the crowdfunding platform gives us the opportunity to create a community and resources to continue to develop these innovative products.” The campaign on Indiegogo.com will run through December 6.
